At Deelscootmobiel.nl we are committed to improving the mobility and independence of people who depend on mobility scooters. In collaboration with Hoefnagels Fire Safety we can now contribute even more to a safe and accessible environment for our users. By combining our innovative sharing solutions for mobility scooters with Hoefnagels Fire Safety's expertise in the field of fire-safe parking facilities, we create a safer living environment for everyone.
Deelscootmobiel.nl: mobility without ownership
Our mission at Deelscootmobiel.nl is to make mobility scooters easily and easily available, so that people do not have to own a mobility scooter themselves. This sharing concept offers more freedom and flexibility to people who depend on mobility scooters, without having to own them themselves. Jeroen van Beurden, director of Deelscootmobiel.nl, says: “This solution is not only user-friendly, but also cost-effective for municipalities. This allows them to improve the mobility and independence of their residents, without having to provide individual mobility scooters via the Wmo scheme.”
Fire safety as a priority
The growth in the number of mobility scooters in the Netherlands, partly due to the ageing population, also creates new challenges. A major concern is the fire hazard caused by charging batteries. But mobility scooters may no longer be parked in the corridors of residential buildings, because they block escape routes and increase the fire risk. In response to the tightened regulations in the Buildings Living Environment Decree (Bbl), shared mobility scooters provide the right solution.
Our collaboration with Hoefnagels Fire Safety offers a solution: safe, accessible and fire-safe storage for mobility scooters. The indoor storage, equipped with fire-resistant roller screens, significantly reduces the risks, which has already led to positive reactions from both residents and the fire brigade.
Future of mobility and safety
Jeroen van Beurden: “Together with Hoefnagels Fire Safety, we are responding to the growing demand for fire-safe mobility and are contributing to a safer Netherlands. Our collaboration supports the social debate on fire safety in residential complexes and the responsible use of electric mobility.”
